schauff Posted October 5, 2006 Share Went to a bike shop on Monday to get some prises on a part.( WELL KNOWN AND PROMOTED CYCLE SHOP ON THIS SITE) The Gentlemen that helped me gave me the prise and then told me that if I buy this over their website, I could save R400. Not knowing much about internet shopping, I asked him how long I would then wait for the part. His reply was that I would get it immediatly as he will sent me the part that was infront of me on the counter. This realy confused me. WHAT IS THE DIFFERANCE and WHY AM I THEN SAVING R400 ( NOT THAT I MIND). but could I not have paid R400 less if I bought it in the shop. Can anyone please help me figure this one out. dirtrider Posted October 5, 2006 Share I am not a expert in this field , but I think the cost of running an online store should be a bit less than having a "walk in" shop .
schauff Posted October 6, 2006 Share Thanks CWC Just wanted to know why? What is important to me is the cost and the qaulity. Doing it over the net will seemingly give me both. Thanks Ps: If i do get problems with the stuff I buy over the net, who will sort that out for me, the shop business or the net business (Jnr or Snr)? Chris Willemse Cycles Posted October 6, 2006 Share You welcome, you can drop or send it to the shop and the online will sort it out!
ZippIt Posted October 6, 2006 Share you probably find if they sell it though the online business they don't have to charge vat, because all that stuff is 'from overseas' anyway
Brakkies Sport Fotos Posted October 6, 2006 Share More online shops in SA: You'll be suprise how much cheaper they are, and most of them deliver at you doorstep: http://www.supercycles.co.za/shop/ http://www.sportsdirect.co.za/
AndreZA Posted October 6, 2006 Share I know of a shop, okay specialist hobby shop, in England that actually closed its "walk in" shop and is only opperating online. They also offered discount for internet purchases.
Norris Posted October 6, 2006 Share Just had a look at www.supercycles.co.za, they nearly have nothing on their website, but token stuff. And sportsdirect don't even come close to cwc. Good job CWC
rock Posted October 6, 2006 Share the whole point of online stores is getting low prices cos there's low overheads, no fancy shop fittings, no salespeople in store etc. etc.
