cyclenut Posted May 14, 2008 Share Well said Skye. There has been a lot of debate around religion lately, so IMHO I think the new avatars are just a childish attempt to continue to stir the pot. There seems to be some perception that Christians are prudes -this is not the case - and although I hold the view that p0rn is an addiction, but regardless of this, I would like to know how the wives and girlfriends would feel if they knew about some of the content. Personally, I think that the deifinition of a real man is one that love Jesus and not one who has the most notches on his belt. I choose to honour my wife every way. I have no need or desire to look pictures woman in various states of undress. Regardless of your belief, every person has a conscience, some moral compass. Use that in considering what you are about to post. Perhaps the most democratic way to solve this is have admin write the rules for posting. As much as I enjoy reading and shopping on The Hub - (there are many great people here who have helped me build bikes at a reasonable price) if p0rnography is is listed as acceptable content then my choice will be to do my shopping elsewhere. DaSH82 Posted May 14, 2008 Share Yes, this is a cycling forum.... i think you might be a little too sensitive to this avatar subject... but each one has the right to their opinion... if you find it offensive... thats your right... but given the number of members on the hub, and the amount that find it offensive... I think we should create a poll... that would make it fair... And depending on the outcome of the pole, admin can make a decision from there... There is way to much complaining going on these days... This is offensive, thats offensive... topics getting pulled coz someone finds it offensive... There internet is full of offensive things... if you dont like it, stick to reading the You or Huisgenoot...
Ox_Wagon Posted May 14, 2008 Share I must say it is getting a bit of a problem especially in an open plan environment I work in. It also limits my access at home to times after the kids are in bed. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

MAESTRO's Posted May 14, 2008 Share Personally I do not think that it's all that bad, but I do belong to many other forums and I must say that the hub does seem to have the most perverts by far. Just my 2c worth.

cyclenut Posted May 14, 2008 Share Thanks for the comments Holy .... (?) It's like saying that stealing a pen is different from stealing a car, using the justification that "my sin is not as bad as his sin" is not an excuse. Analogy:Do you not DQ someone in race because they only went 1 foot over the white line whereas someone else went 3 feet over line? Skye's point is this - Some of the avatars and postings cross the line for a cycling forum - it doesn't matter how far across the line ...
