Yes, and also, Campa is suuuuper reliable, but you can't order individual parts as far as I know, only in kits

That 'special' tool you couldn't find, it's called a flat screwdriver. Been there, done that :whistling:

Tried a flat screw drive intially but it was slipping, do you know if the bolt is left or right threaded?

Mine had a circlip, that, once removed, allowed the fixing bolt and spring assembly to pop right out. The threads of the bolt did not have anything to do with the removal process.

However, I will never take it apart again, except if it's problematic, because, once it's out, it needs to be put back together, and that requires you to hold the spring in place and insert the circlip. This turned out to be a two man job, and my derailer ended up with a good few scratches in the process...

Just out of curiosity, Would you put your hard earned Randollas down to buy a drivetrain from a company other than Shimano or SRAM?

My main roadbikes are campagnolo , my main mountainbike has a Rohloff drivetrain(though since like two days with SRAM cranks. Shitmano and SRAM ar for my more crappy bikes

Yeah i think you referring to your 10spd ergo's those had a little clip at the back, the 11speed version has changed and moved to a more smooth washer type.

Yip, circa 2000...

I would NEVER, ever, ever, touch parts of 11sp Campa that does not give problems.

If only for risk of scratching.

At first i didnt want to open it, then no bike shop in CT wanted to do it either, the alternative was JMK but then i thought to myself lets see if i can sort it out first and i think i done a very good job :)

Well, I would never touch it if it did not give problems, HOWEVER, if there is a problem, the LBS would be my last resort-I like doing these things myself...

Good on you:-)

Having seen the Box components and rode it in a parking lot, I'd love to have it in my bike.

If you want your mate's XTR bike to look bland, get a Box drivetrain.

So it's compareable to XTR?

It's not that much more expensive than an XT 11sp shifter evn

I can't comment on where it slots in, and a parking lot test was to short to really tell on its quality. It's definitely prettier than xtr. (Maar een man se lelik is 'n ander man se vrou)

Yes!

Why not?

"Boutique" manufacturers produce high spec quality (sometimes to fill a specific need). Lots of R&D goes into what these companies bring to the market, quite often setting the trend and pace.

The conservative and traditional will for ever stay with the familiar. Nothing wrong with it. Just boring.
