Progress report - 2/3 of 2018

A few PRs set on the running side, as I slowly build up to a 21.1Km by November.

Not worried with my PMC data, but it certainly paints a picture I can relate to.

206Km ahead at this point, compared to recorded history (from December 2008 onwards). I know a few rides are missing along the way, but nothing mayor. A few favourite (cycle) races planned for the last 1/3 of the year as well as a club ride from JHB to PMB for the Amashova to loom forward to.

All still on track, at 100 days to go. And what a difference being regular makes to these progressions... I appear to not like winter, historically.

July/August have been bare-minimum months - an hour a day, with barely a ten-hour week in sight. Can't wait for the warmth of summer.

Enjoy the spring

Today we had a typical autumn day, sunny and cool with a NIP in the air and a max of about 14C excluding the wind chill.

Had to wear a vest underneath my short sleeve running T shirt, most people running with long sleeves and tights tonight...and the sun is setting early, in a month when the clocks change will be to dark to ride after work.

9 months down, 3 months to go.

My progress so far against a modest targets:

  • Cycling: 5933Km with target of 6000Km (Jan)
  • Running: 719Km with target of 750Km (Jan)

Currently on target to beat my highest (recorded) distance for any year, 8270Km.

Still have to get onto the IDT, after a long day at Carnival City for the MTB race, and prepping for tomorrow's Carnival City Macsteel National Classic cycle race, and Trail Run.Have come this far, not to stop/miss a day now.

I might just use the 2.5 hours at the start as my workout for tomorrow - as I'll get over 20k steps alone (if prior years are anything to go by).
