Will be doing the 30km. Does any body have a route profile or gain for the 30km route?

Last year's turned out to be 24km with 275m climbing. The climbs were mostly short and steep.

Thanks FR33rider. Worriesnot scared me with his comment that it was the toughest race in the USN series. He must be referring to the 50km. I only did the Modderfontein (25km) one last year and it had me gasping for air.

You will remember the ride, that's for sure. For me, it was much tougher than Modders, with some really slick mud patches and lots and lots of loose surfaces. The last 5km downhillish section of the 30km route pounded the *** out of my tired hands, but it was really fun :) Enjoy, and see you at the ones later in the year :) :) I will look for my Garmin file of last year's ride, and post it if I find it.

Rode with someone this morning and to quote him, "They better do something fast aor there is going to be carnage. Mud all over the place and cattle have messed up the trails". Hopefully by Saturday all the mud is dry and some people have ridden the track to make it good.

Thanks Eugene!! Nerves back on.

Don't get me wrong, it was tough. Those steep climbs pound your legs quickly, pair that with fast rocky downhill sections and you cross the finish line with proper jelly legs.

Hehehehe... ja I'm talking about the 50km.

Gives anything between 750-900m ascent depending on the route they take us on.

Had 870-ish in 2015 and 770-ish in 2016.

About the 30km version; not going to lie to you - it is more challenging than Modderfontein, BUT also a helluva lot more fun (IMHO of course).

I have done the 30km last year and nearly died....but then I got better. It is not an easy day out - you will remember this race... and your legs will keep shouting at you the next day...even driving past Avianto makes you feel some burn in the legs.

Is it tough out - Hell yes.... Is it WHY you do it - Hell yes...

You will learn new words and phrases, you will ride/walk/crawl/slide and still have the best time. Everyone suffers together..

Make sure your water bottle is secure - we had a ton of guys loosing bottles in the first 5km.

I were stupid enough to go for the 50km.... It's gonna hurt but it will be fun! Cant wait.Enjoy teh 30km and be safe
