I do speak under correction, so please check, but see the sram logo. Looks to me as if some repair work was done in that area.

However I am most likely wrong

Otherwise it is an awesome bike

What exactly would cause thay damage? On the sram sticker and pivots, when I get the bike I'll double check the pivots aren't loose,

Do a sag setup first (30% standing is a good start), then use the baseline settings for the pressure you ended up at.

Reading your weight off the chart will most likely end you up on the super stiff side of things.

Ok will try that, should I run my rebound fast with about 20% sag?i want it to make it balanced for rock gardens but not to soft or I'll get bucked on the jumps

No man, it looks like it has had a weld repair done there. But it is hard to say from a pic. YOu will have to check.

On the sticker? That's just cosmetic from what I saw, how can I identify weld work?

That sounds like a MUCHHHHH better plan. Pic of the bike.

It's also a linkage driven single pivot. The Makulu was in the Dirt 100 for 5 years straight. No other DH bike has managed that. A really good bike and I've never heard of one breaking. The shock won't be Ohlins as such. It will be a Cane Creek double barrel. Those were made by Ohlins tho. Yummy! The serial number under the BB will give you the year it was made. Mine was MK0904. The only maintenance issue is the shock bushings tend to wear pretty fast. But bushings are cheap as chips.

Adding to what Duane has said above, remember you're very likely to grow a few inches over the next few months. That frame is a bloody good one, and the specs seem on point as well from what you've said.

I'd say buy it and keep it as a future bike, if you can. Unfortunately small DH bikes don't come along very often at all, and you'll only probably be short enough for one for the next 6 months or so.

You can take the parts off the Mak and put them on your existing sled in the meantime, and then have a KICK ASS frame waiting for you when you're ready to go up a size...

A bike, with a 40, CCDB and X0, for 10k. Legit.

Ok well that's also fine.

Pic of the bike? There aren't many around so I probably know the owner or who has owned it.

Good STuff!!!.

Get an idea of how tall you will be, by comparing your size to your parents and family. You wont get too much taller than them.

Dads 1.73m moms short but im already taller than her
