Thanks everybody. I will check them carefully this weekend. Maybe I should take it back to the LBS as the bike is 2 months old.

I just did not want to waste my free service on something like this. Maybe I can pursuade them this is seperate from the service.

Rather have friend that knows about bikes do this , the bike shop is really not going to appreciate you coming in on the weekend for something like this and expect it to be free.

Rather go in the week ( if its not bothering you to much) and take a cold an ice-cold coke for the mechanic who does it for you.

A tjie tjie sound every rotation on the same place as far as I can see. I checked the disk and it looks ok. There are no loose spokes. Wheel skewer is tight.

In one hand, good the fork at the top of the lowers and with the other hand grab the tyre at the top and rock out side to side. Do you feel any play/knocking feel. If the noise is more evident when your are cornering then your front hub is loose. Take the wheel off and check the two caps on either side of the hub. Don't over tighten them or your wheel won't spin so freely anymore.

Went to Tool Up this morning. They discovered that the front brake caliper was not aligned properly. Fixed it in in 5 minutes.

Jikes I learn something new every day.

Thanks to everybody giving advice.

Quick question, I replaced my SLX brake pads with new ones, but now they basically against the rotor, the wheel still generally moves freely, but there is a bit of a braking that happen irrespective if i pull the brake or not.  Is this normal and will it smooth itself out, or do I need to do something new?

I have tried to push the brake pistons as far back as possible before inserting the brake pads.

They will settle down after your first ride if it's just a case of being new pads.

Align the calipers properly or the fluid will get hot and they will bind worse than now.

Great thanks, did some up and down so long in the road just to smooth them in a bit, and think it was already better afterwards, but did realise my back brake pads probably also need to be replaced, so back to the shop tomorrow

What is the recommended pads for SLX, just the normal Shimano ones, or something better to consider value wise

The Shimano technical manual says to push pistons all the way in, insert the new brake pads and the red spacers (that come with calipers/brakesets), then apply the brakes. Remove red spacers and fit caliper to frame/fork, and centralise caliper on disk using mounting bolts.

I've never had to do all of that, only loosen caliper mount, spin wheel, apply brakes and lock mounting bolts bit by bit between the 2 bolts.
