Where on Giel Basson did this occur, it really hits home when you hear about an accident on the same road that we sometimes ride on.

For sure, I also feel we will not get people to give us  1 M but then I sit and think...if I show 10 per day to 1 M away from me then maybe 1 will rememvber and not kill a fellow cyclist

I got an extremely quick response with a personal phone call from Kenny Africa.

 

He has explained that the City of Cape Town traffic department does not fall under his jurisdiction, nor would he tolerate the behavior of this traffic officer if he were part of the provincial traffic services.

He will forward this query to the relevant city authorities and I will post responses.

Thats just tactics on his part to delay or whatever else. I also sent an email to him, traffic department etc a few years ago. These guys just deflect and then do nothing. In my instance I persisted for a few years and now we at a point where there is no budget for the speed bumps we want for our road. Rather pathetic excuses.
