Explain the chain tension on that bike to me?

Single pivot design with the pivot at the BB, so whole rear triangle is one piece and since it pivots from the BB, the chainstay length does not change as the suspension moves.

now if only we still had those awesome single pivot lekker Morewoods around with modern geo it would be nice (even though they are not steel)

Reading the comments on PB, reminds me of a little online space we have here in SA....

I sold this one...

I find it interesting how a design that is about 20 years old, can still look so good and ride so well. I really would not mind to have one in the 29er version.

I see my memory isn't all that bad. The first Superlight will have its' 20th birthday in 2019! Where the hell did the time go? (Sorry for going on about aluminium bikes, but my prediction is that in 20 years time there will be a thred about "Aluminium is Real" :ph34r: )

Now you will just have to get a certain Mr Mercer to weld you up a lovely steel single pivot trail bike :P

His BFe 26er...

That is LOVELY!

 

EDIT: Actually, I have a jump bike that can turn into my lightie's 26er when he's big enough. Hmmmmmm.... But it's not steel.
