Hairy Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 So So. I know I like steel bikes, what about you?
Eldron Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Carbon for racing - steel for passion. Steel is floppy and heavy and wonderful :-)
IH8MUD Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Question #3 I can't choose all three . . . please correct it now . . . or make option "all of the above"
The expat cyclist Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 I won't spend money on anything else than a steel frame.
Frosty Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Did you steel (pun intended) that video from my post on the Steel is real thread? [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

shaper Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Safron bike in video is a custom build by a Saffa living in London? Think he has even posted on the hub? Edit: Was correct, found link https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/117453-okay-this-is-what-i-do/page-1?hl=safron
popcorn_skollie Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Carbon for racing - steel for passion. Steel is floppy and heavy and wonderful :-) Here's a 6kg steelie. http://www.rodbikes.com/catalog/outlaw/images/2013-outlaw1-small.jpg
RocknRolla Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 um operationHm4Uni.JPG Been seeing snippets of this build every now and again.... very very very cool.
Jewbacca Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 I only own steel bikes now... After setting the stable free it is 1x steel 160mm HT funbike, 1 x rigid SS, 1 x vintage steel race bike with modern components and 1 x SS drop bar monster cross/disc roadie/fixie depending on wheelset... All other bikes have been vanquished..... except for a Blackmarket Killswitch if anyone is after one. I would let it go for a decent price
Flippa Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Wait wait wait wait what is this treatment that has to be done on the inside of the frame ????? First time I'm hearing of this Framesaver? Not necessary in Gauteng imo. Also, frames treated with framesaver are apparently a bitch to repair and repaint......
Mongoose! Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 What make steel a better ride than alloy or aluminium?Never owned a steel bike before, but had alloy and alu frames in the past. Currently have 5 carbon bikes.
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 um operationHm4Uni.JPGOoooooooooooooooooooooooh
