I should have a pump, 2 spare tubes as we will be two, repair kit, water bottles, helmets, and a asthma pump. Is there anything else you guys take with on a ride?

greg_sa Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Not sure if you'll be running tubeless, but I'd recommend it as soon as possible... it is thorn season in Durbanville Try to stay on the tracks that have been used - they'll be thorn free. Even on the dirt roads, there will be a strip that you can see is well used. Riding on a less used part of the dirt roads (on the edge) is looking for trouble. Even if someone wants to pass, don't ride on anything that looks like a flat plant

Mamil Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I like to have an electrolyte in my water and food in case I get hungry. And repair kit has tyre levers? A chain breaker on multi-tool. A spare link for chain? All stuff I've been pleased to have with me after having carried it for months without needing it. IF tubeless - still carry a tube and CO2 bombs and the nozzle attachment. You need an attachment that screws on to your flat tyres valve, you make sure the little tap on this nozzle is off, you screw the canniser into the other end of the attachment which punctures the CO2 bomb. You open the tap on the nozzle and whooosh the air rushes into your tyre and pumps it up in an instant. Quick and easy for use with a tube.
