dexterdent Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Last week I was having some issues fitting a 26er tacx trainer tyre. Turned out that using a 29er tube was not the best idea (there were reasons, I promise). I called Giant Durbanville and they suggested a 26x1.25 tyre, but they only had Presta valves (I needed Schrader). I went to the store just before closing time, and Andries managed to fit the tyre/tube perfectly, even adding in a rubber grommet to make the valve fit properly. It only took him about 10 mins, but with my weak tyre levers at home (I broke two the evening before) I would have spent hours, and maybe popped another couple of tubes. The total cost of this exercise: R45 I know it's a small thing, but I think this is what makes a bike shop great. Thanks for great service, I know where my next bike service is going.
Hairy Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 A good set of tyre levers = their weight in gold when it comes to fitting ore removing tyres!
dexterdent Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Yeah, lesson learned! (BTW, the tacx trainer tyre is AMAZING, makes the noise go down by about 80%)
