Swift or Giant

I need some help on making a decision between the 2016 Giant TCR Advance Pro or Swift Attack/Ultravox.

Currently riding a 2009 Pinarello FP3 that I have loved riding.

If you ever want to attach anything to your saddle post, stick with the round tube (Swift).  That's probably not a good argument, but it's the way I'm leaning for my next purchase.  I currently ride a 5 year old Giant TCR Advanced.

Other than that I can't fault the TCR Advanced, but I would (and I probably will) go with the Swift.

I ride a TCR Advanced, so am a bit biased

Ultegra gruppo, carbon rims and lifetime warranty on the frame for around R40k

Swift is making good bikes and their service, support & reputation has been really good from what I hear.

Swift Ultravox RS-1 with Ultegra and Aksiums for R40k

5 year warranty on the frame

Are you looking at the Swift Attack frame of the Ultravox?

The Attack frame is kind of heavy.

Saw the Attack - very sexy but as you say it's around 200g heavier than the top end Ultravox. The 2016 Giant TCR comes with Carbon Wheelset. My budget is around R40k - would I get the same value on a Ultravox build?

Thanks to everyone for their input and advice.

A 2017 Ultravox frame alone will cost you 2/3 of your budget. At 40k you cant get much of a new bike on the top end side but you certainly can find a 1 or 2year old in very good condition.

Swift is an SA company, so always a plus in my books.

I have also only heard amazing things from them in terms of after sales service and warranty issues. I have even seen that they replace frames when it is the second owner. On top of that, their clients sing their praises - and the bikes look classy! Having owned a Giant - I cannot say I have had great experiences with warranty and after sales issues.

Swift are a top class SA company, and the moment they produce an enduro oriented mtb, they will be on my short list when looking at a new bike!

Swift for the win!
