Looking for group ride around Paarl next week

Hi guys. I'll be in Paarl from the 20th to 29th of March and would love to experience a proper WC trail while there. 

 

Anyone want to join, know of a great trail and know of an affordable MTB place to rent from for the day?

 

Disclaimer: I'm a gravel grinder and super unfit at the moment.

Give dirtopia a call re bike rentals, but for trails, I can't help you at the moment - growing back a clavicle...

Ask Meurant at Dirtopia to point you in the direction of some gnarly downs.

Welvanpass in Wellington is about 15km away from Paarl,but I think it will probably be off limits as Cape Epic goes through there, so you probably have to go out to Stellenbosch side. Dirtopia might be the best option to find out.

Rheebokskloof is one of my favourites. Havent been there in a long time and they've done some upgrades i think. Cant miss it. Otherwise welvenpas is THE BEST

Epic is not going through WVP this year.

But there was some fire damage. Trails are open, but are littered with dead pine needles and some fallen trees on the black route. So white might be a better option until some maintenance work is done there.

Paarl has loads of dh / freerider type guys, but one of the original Playgrounds riders passed away on Tuesday morning, so I think quite a few of those guys will be pre-occupied for a couple of days.
