when one is commuting, there is no choice  :(

It was raining one day and I was leaving the office.

Somebody saw me in my riding kit and said, "Are you going to ride in that?"

My response was, "Well, I got here, I have to get home somehow..."

She just couldn't fathom that I was prepared to ride in the pouring rain and tried telling me to call an Uber...haha.

Same thing happened a few weeks back. I have a colleague that wanted to arrange a different way for me to get home. Meanwhile cat-i was standing somewhere in the pouring rain waiting for me.

I then had to promise to send a 'got home safely' message to said colleague.

The nicest part of that ride was having the spruit all to ourselves!

My colleague didn't seem to care if I got home safely, I wasn't asked to tell them anything. haha

I think we need to be more concerned about those men with the jacket with extra long sleeves showing up... ;)

I still see blue skies, maybe we'll be lucky and have the 30% chance of no rain

It wouldnt be a  real Sani2C if we don't get at least a little bit wet!

Eish NSBB, maybe you can just hold it there for a while...

oh well, at least I don't have any distance to catch up. My shortest commute will complete the challenge for me.

Thereafter, I'm thinking pizza, red wine, couch and blankie*

*don't judge me, I've earned it this week

No judging, that sounds like the best reward ever.

and we did it!!

Cat-i finished first and completed more than the required distance and ascent.

My mileage ended up at 268kms for the week and 3655m ascent

so I was +-67m short on climbing, but goal no one for me was replicating the distance.

Well done to everyone that took part :)

I won't commute 5 days in a row in a hurry again...

303.79 km

21 hours 9 minutes

4742m ascent

Randburg/Sandton is not flat!

Thank you for the motivation.

Not doing ParkRun tomorrow!
