I saw a few Savages there - one had dark rings under his eyes, I just thought it was from being parent to babies.

That was me, its some toddler eye infection :/

Riding actually made it much better suprisingly!

Pity about the puncture after feeling good at the start.

At least your benchmark will be easy to beat in round 2!

@mamil

Yes

On the road bike

Go hard enough

No rest for the legs

That's why the top MTBers mostly train on the road ????

Ja, the top 10 on Suikerbossie segment reads like the front row of the start line at the epic.

They're such different disciplines and I can't decide which one I like more. My family says I'm happier when I've been mountain biking though which is the out in nature aspect of it which I love. But the road has it's own enchantments and I am so looking forward to my first ever bunch finish.

99% of the fun should come before the sprint to the mats. Most of the crashes I have had at PPA races were when people were sprinting for 18th place in the I group sprint.

Rather pop in the last 3km after attacking or sitting on the front, than suck wheel and have an accident on the line :P

really enjoyed this event. thumbs up to PPA!

Although the temp was effing cold on take-off, it turned out rather pleasant for me after about 30 min into the race.
