guides have the same problem, i know of multiple sets. even here on the hub, and just like the repair of sanding/cleaning its fix is the same

The SRAM Guides are doing this straight off the shelf. I think that there is a batch where the pistons are machined slightly too thick. The same mod works or they can be repaired under warranty.

this is exactly what happens. the advise I got was if it gets sticky you can pore water on it and it'll relax...

yes i remember a friend/mechanic for one of the popular places in town, reckon to me they threw ice water on the levers of their team bikes at the WP's in the EPIC 2 years ago

it may just mechanic talks, but its definitely plausible

Hahahaha. There's always one...

LOL probably a fairweather cyclist, & if on Strava you'll probably find these types of okes ranked 200 000 on gentle descents   :whistling:

leave it in the sun for a few minutes, and my guess is the problem will return, i've tried this too.

without sanding anything i just cleaned(proper) out, it only took one ride in the blazing cape town sun... and the problem returned.

I'm yet to have that elusive first ride in the blazing sun since the "fix"
