Let's hope he is the one bluffing.. I think the 20sec penalty also perhaps also influenced how he rode yesterday..it put him 2min behind. He did however say that last year he was completely exhausted after the Dauphine..this year he still felt fresh..

(he received a 20sec penalty for taking a bottle from a team mate in the last 20km the previous day.. which I think is a bit dodge. .remember Porte getting a penalty when he collected a gel for Froome but froome didn't receive a penalty..same situation here..except Bert got a penalty ..they really do need to clarify these rules)

I believe Berto will have a *** day or two during the tour, but then again he always has a super successful day too. (taking massive amounts of time)

Astana ... Life after Nibbles. Let's hope no other infringements raise its head. They look good, but 2 leaders can get in each others way. Wonder if Fuglsang was just being coy or politically correct? Borat is the team leader after all.

I think Fuglsang should have a shot at the TDF lead..really I do.. all round a better GC candidate than Aru IMO...

He can descend..he can TT he can climb he is strong mentally..

Fuglsang took chances and it paid off.

He looks a bit weighty for a stage win up 10kms at 10%

One helluva engine then hey

BMC will have to make sure they offer Porte a LOT more support if he wants to podium at the Tour. Form is definitely there.

There you have it, two riders going round what looks like the same bend. One looks good and the other all gangly. But ... the ugly one is faster. So guess who wins.

OK in this case none. LOL

One of my arms pop out like Froomey's when I'm anaerobic on the bike ????????‍♂️

Negating aero gains ????

Well we need a picture of Fuglsang on that bend to really see who did it best[emoji23]

I have missed the week's racing due to personal stuff... Who or what is this robotic fellow doing commentary?? Sounds like a Danish pastry.

Jeez that oke was atrocious. Look, Ant McCrossan isn't great but he is way better than this muppet. I only heard him for the last 2 days, can't say I recall him droning on earlier on in the week.

Porte's fat lower lip slows him down.

I just hope that Louis has now realized that he can attack also, he does not just have to follow wheels to the line.

Yesterday was case in point, when he eventually decided to light the fuse, he dropped Froome's group like a hot potato. Bardet tried to stick with him, but he also had to let go after a while.

Louis looked good and composed. Let's hope there is more of this to come during the TDF.

Yes he was very strong and I am also hoping that this will be a big confidence boost for him. This years TDF has more of a climbers route so I think he can really give the white comp a good go.

BUT he needs stronger team assistance...not in the mountains..He is very good on riding the GC trains but he needs protection on the flats..especially the windy stages.

Last year team tactics cost him 1 place on GC..let's hope that will not happen again.

Top 5 is a real possibility with the form he showed yesterday.

Seriously good racing yesterday...With just about all GC contenders having a go at some time during the stage. Organisers should by now start to see that these short stages are the ones that provide the most entertainment..hope to see more of these in the grand tours.

Lots of guys showing serious form right now..But let's not forget that was a 8 day race..

5 riders that will start the tour have won a GT.Aru,Quintana,Conto,Valverde and Froome.

They know what it is about..the rest still need to show they can get the job done over 3 weeks. All 5 of those will be strong..just Quintana that might struggle in the 3rd week.

With Porte,Bardet and Jacob then the ones that looks like the other form riders. That's 8 serious contenders..We should be in for a great TDF!!
