SRM Power Control 8 advice

I have a SRM power meter on my bike and I use the Power Control 8 for display. What I cannot figure out is how to positively start a ride and end a ride. There does not seem to be a button to press at start and at end. The system will start when it detects movement and stop when you stop. Especially in races I want to be able to start the system when the race starts and finish when I cross the line. Is there a way to do this?

Hold the set key for 2 secs and then confirm with pro key?

Thanks will try that. I have used the "Set" button previously and that just kicks my screen over to the function screens. I did not try holding for 2 seconds.

Do you use the SRM Power Control 8? I wanted to ask a question about the WIFI function. I have wifi at home but so far have not managed to get my SRM to connect to it. Also is it possible to connect the SRM to a IPhone? The reason for that is, finish ride and data is uploaded to Strava. At the moment I use my Garmin 920 XT to upload to Strava. Currently, to get the upload from the SRM unit to Strava I have to plug into my laptop, download the data etc.

download to your pc, highlight the race section and resave.

That is exactly what I have been doing, but there should / must be a way to stop the clock as you cross the line. I always see the pro's, who have the same system, pressing a button on the PC8 when they cross the line. The way it works now you have to guess where the race started and ended. I will try what Long Wheel Base pointed out. Press the SET button for 2 seconds.

I think your unit is not working properly and I am willing to relieve you of this terrible problem you have to deal with on a daily basis. No human being should be subjected to what you are currently dealing with

What a great idea and I would do as you suggest. I just can't bring myself to offload this evil device on a fellow huber.
