Needed: XD freebody for the Hope 4 hub, Cassette, chain, shifter and a X-sync2 chainring that will fit a 4 bolt crank All the bits and pieces will cost about R6500 in Germany. Anyone running the GX group to report?
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Nah. Just get a wide range 10sp cassette (11-46) and carry on. Fraction of the price and all the benefit. Btw you don't need the x sync ring if you upgrade. Normal narrow wide fits perfectly.

Anyone running the GX group to report? I agree with Myles, after moving from 10 speed to 11 speed, I really don't see too much difference. Just look at the aftermarket clusters.A stag you may find is if you do have a short-cage derailleur. You may need to replace it.

Literally. It's the sunrace with a Box lockring.

WrightJnr Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I'm running BOX cassette with M8000 shifter and mech. 32T upfront when at the coast and 34T in Jozi. Very happy with the setup but IMO the shimano mech is at its limit in the 46 cog. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Though check to see if the xt can take a 46. It should be able to, but the SLX definitely can. And there's little to no difference between them.
