The way I look at it is Bogus is a real artist, jeez he doesn't doesn't do decals, he hand draws your logos on!

One day I'll have a project worthy of that level of work and mix it with some Hasie and the robots for extra vibe.

Right now I'm looking for a company to strip and clear coat a frame and I'm not looking to pay R3k as the fame is barely worth rhat. Suggestions?

Can you clear powder coat?

Bogus definitely the best out there, got a frame as well that I want to do but not going to pay 3k for a aluminum frame which is not even worth 1.5k.

When you find that guy let me know.

Im not sure where you'd go for a cheaper option,I know the guy who owns salvo,he might know someone who can do it for cheaper, ill ask him, otherwise some car re sprayers that we know said they'd do my frame in a black carbon wrap for peanuts i just have to stick they're branding on my bike in a few places,

Okay, so my brother in law does powder coating and I've just realised you can do clear powder coating in matt and gloss. So all I need now is some one with a big vat of nasty stuff to strip it down and away we go! Should cost around R750 for the coating.

Why not do the stripping yourself?

I stripped an Giant Alu frame with a product called Plascon RemovAll.

Worked like a dream. Took me 3 days to do, only because I painted the product on in the evening, washed it of the next morning, and left the frame to dry in the sun. Next evening I painted the areas not stripped the first time, and repeated the process. 3rd day I painted around all the "creased areas" (BB, headtube, etc). Very little scrubbing / scraping was needed, it washed off with water, no effort.

Your brother in law is ripping you off. I did my frame at R&S Powder Coating in Somerset West. Paid R275 and that included sandblasting, pre-baking to get any oil & grease out of the frame and coating thereafter.

that's not a bad price, paid R380 to strip and coat a frame at Coating Services in Strand as well now recently. Just for curiosity sake, was this an alumium or steel fra,e?

Steel. Which I suspect is easier. I think aluminium needs a primer. Can't remember.

Aluminium need to be chemically stripped, cant sandblast it. guess that`s where the extra cost comes in
