Dropper on Scott Scale 960

Looking at adding a dropper to my bike in a few weeks, I see no internal routing holes in the seat tube, I take it this limits me to externally routed droppers then? Unless anyone knows of hidden holes. Lol

Iwan, that's a Spark. OP is asking about an alloy Scale. All cables were routed externally on the older models and now I believe the shifter cables are internal, but the rear brake is still external.

OP, it looks like only one cable can fit in the frame opening? So the dropper would have to be externally routed, unless perhaps you convert to 1x and then run the dropper where the front derailleur cable was.

Ya figured as much, will probably have to cable tie it to the rear break cable that's running along the down tube.

First prize would be to have it enter internally at the front somewhere and then route through the BB and up. But if that kit won't fly then get one of the Lyne droppers.

This is what you want:

https://www.on-lynecomponents.com/products/lyne-contour-dropper-post-31-6mm-x-120mm-external-v2-0

The cable stays stationary so there is no added cable rub as the post moves up and down.

If you can't route the cable via current stops, het two or three of the stick on cable guides and use these along the bottom of your top tube.

Don't use the down tube for cables if possible, it is in striking range of rocks and debris and just plain stupid. I don't understand why so many manufacturers still use cable routing along the bottom of the down tube and underneath the BB.

I'll be very surprised if you can find it at VCS. Go to a bike shop. I know Daryn from Williams Bike Shop had some on his Dartmoor. So he'll know it.

Just be careful when you cable tie the dropper post cable to the brake housing, the dropper cable needs to be rigidly secured to prevent movement as this will affect the operation of the dropper post...

Experienced the dropper not securing in the normal ride position and kept sliding down, due to the cable tension not being correct. Mine was also secure to the brake housing at the time, so I re-did the installation and secured it to the front derailleur cable securing points on the frame (I am riding and externally cable routed frame)

You can't go wrong with the Lyne droppers, never had a days issue since my purchase...
