Bin or keep?

So I was recently involved in a bunch accident and when I got home I noticed this small crack on my integrated stem/handlebar.

Probably is a dumb question but how safe is it still to ride? This particular handlebar was a perfect match with my bike and I definitely not gonna find it again. The crack is very small but it’s there.

Is this a definite throw in the bin and get a new one?7d01252038ba9faccf7c6584e9e70c3b.jpg

Well you could always ask the Dr who reconstructs your face to use stitches that will match your bike as well.

It may be just a surface clear coat Crack, or you may be looking at the ears of the hippo, either way, of it was my bike it would be binned.

I'd probably have kept it. With a longer bolt and a washer on cracked side. It won't look great but it'll tighten just as well as before. I did the same with a broken brake lever clamp before.

Pretty sure you'll find some most integrated handlebars again. Or if your bike isn't legit, just import some Chinese ones instead and pay for the spray job to match. Or just go with a normal stem and bar and have a spray job done to match, if that's your thing.

I would ride with those again, whatever your next course of action.
