YATES : “Yesterday it was extremely difficult and today was the same. I knew everybody would be tired today. I was also really tired but, at the same time, I was very motivated to take as much time as I could on Tom [Dumoulin] before the time trial. I rode with passion. I gave everything, knowing that everyone would finish empty. I came to the Giro to win the race but I didn’t expect to win three stages. It’s a magnificent achievement. I’m lost for words. I couldn’t imagine this. But I don’t know if the advantage I have now is enough to win the Giro. I’m not sure if I’m the favourite or not.”

The ITT should interesting, I see TD taking 1min back.

However stages 18,19,20 could turn the whole Giro on its head.

If Yates does not loose too much time on the TT then the Giro is his to loose.  Looking stronger than all opponents in the mountains and they will all be tired in the last week.  Based on the last 2 days he is much stronger !!

How is it that the Giro has only this one "uncategorised" climb?
The TdF has maybe 2-3..
Although the Giro's climbs all look WAY more severe that the Tours..

The Giro categorise their climbs different to the TDF folk.. had this been an ASO event the CAT 1 Giro climbs would all be HC[emoji6]

The "Cima Coppi" classification in stage 19 refers to the highest point reached in race ito elevation.

Like Gen said, the Giro classifies their climbs different to ASO.

Rest day

Aargghhhh

But tomorrow it will be really interesting

(well we all hope so)

All eyes will be on Yates & Tom.

IMO Yates has enough of a gap over Tom to remain in PINK (unless he crashes / punctures / etc)

MTS are doing really well.
