Giant Control Tank

You need the valve stem to be in place but you take the core out of it to aid airflow when you first inflate it to seat the tyre into the bead. Then all the air comes out when you detach the pump to insert the valve core. Finally you pump it up as normal.

Me bad.... Forgot to say valve core [emoji20]

Thanks guys, makes sense, will give that a bash!

Do you have enough pressure in the tank?

yes, what usxorf says, make sure the pressure is enough in the tank, i was using a dud pomp and found i struggled getting it to seat my tyres, i then tried another pump and was simple to seat, gou gou

I suspect that I may have a dodge pomp, I try get it up to 126psi but have to detach the pump very quickly as pressure drops whilst pump is still attached

I am so in between paying R850 for the tank, only to use for when needing to seat a tyre.  But get it at some stage, or a combi (pump & tank combined)

If I had to do it again I would get the combo (depending on price differential I suppose) as having to attach a pump to the control tank it a bit of a pain (first world problems I know) - I actually assumed that it was a combo - only realised you needed an "external" pump once I opened the box - as I said DIY challenged!

Main reason(s) for me getting one is twofold as (i) I heard that CO2 is not great for sealant and (ii) I want to try and up my DIY game so want to be able to do as much as possible in my own garage (with the aid of some youtube videos of course).

It is works I think it is a cool gadget to have that will always come in handy

this, it works really well, especially for home use, I've never had issues with the tank and seated quite a few wheels already.

also in the same boat, couldn't really afford the combo pomp, but will be getting a compressor at home instead

What size compressor should be able to do the job?  Don't want to under purchase or spend money on something I will not be using.

Added that important part

Was at cwc they have a Icetoolz pump & air chamber combo for sale at R599

That's a fantastic price.

Don't have any experience with the product but have seen it there and priced well over R1k like most combos.

I still like the Lezyne (if I were buying with no budget restrictions).
