No wonder traffic enforcement in the cape is a farce. The provincial traffic chief can't distinguish between a bicycle and a motorbike.

All the best to the cyclist with recovering.

I am sure he just went on what he was told by his personnel.

And here I thought cyclist held the higher ground unlike the guys with their generalisations on the 4x4 forum.

And here I thought people on this forum could see sarcasm when it’s so damn obvious.

Unfortunately, those 4x4 forums kinda support my sarcastic post.... so double whoopsie for you!

Congratulations you sure put me in my place.

You misread something, not me.

However, this thread isn’t about you or me, it’s about a fellow injured cyclist. I’m not going to engage with you further.

Its a bad time to be on the roads with all the 'festivity' happening. Recover well fellow cyclist, and to the others doing some riding, or the #Festive500, I can't even tell you to ride safe because our safety is held in the hands of all the other roads users as well.

Any medical updates? [emoji853]

Saw x-rays of the ribs, but probably shouldn't share it here without consent. Looks bad. Long recovery ahead. Strongs to the cyclist!

You have to say he was lucky to some degree that he is still with us. I hope that the Fortuner driver gets a massive serve of justice. Thankfully he didn't do the classic run off and wait until later when the 'shock' had worn off to turn himself in.

Given half a chance I'm pretty sure he would have tried to run off, but that Fortuner was too wrecked to go anywhere. Thankfully no fatal injuries to any of the parties involved.
