ABrooks Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 We rode past a scene this morning on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Klapmuts near the Kromme Rhee road at about 08h20. There was quite a large group of riders and it seemed as if one of the riders was on the ground and being attended to. Can anyone confirm what happend there and if the rider is OK?

ABrooks Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 That's hectic, hope he recovers soon. Not often these days that you hear the driver stops after an accident. This is why I cannot bring myself to buy a road bike.

He has some serious injuries but in the greater scheme of things he is OK. But Iron Man dream is in tatters... He sent out the message below to his friends and riding group: Hi. Ek is ok. Knie gebreek, beken been gebreek en fraktuur in skouer bladbeen. Al my ironman drome in oogwink weg. Net dankbaar ek lewe. Nou vir die lang recovery. Willie
