Suidwes Boytjie Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Want to get a bit of general advice and insight to a bike rack for a small car, Polo Bluemotion. I do have a 3 bike carrier which goes onto the tow bar for the SUV, but will it be better to just add a tow bar to the polo and bob's your uncle or would a roof rack with bike on top (which will cost more than a tow bar) of the car be better? Which will be more practical?
lizejackson92 Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 We have a golf 7... coughed up the extra cash and had a towbar installed at Autobar sine they had the best prices and then invested in a platform bike rack (thule brand). Good luck

The Ouzo Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Towbar I have roof rack with bike mounts on my company car, the added wind noise and increased fuel consumption even when the bikes are not on is a bit of a pain. for last years argus we used my buddies car. He didnt have a towbar so bought one of those bike racks that strap on. We were very skeptical and added additional straps for stability. But it performed faultlessly, so besides the extra PT to mount the thing it could be an option for you.
