Vitus?

CRC bought the old trademark and brand and started it up again. Was some of the most creative bikes back in the day and was ridden by Sean Kelly and the KAS team to a large amount of classics wins an more.

They started off a bit vanilla but have really come good in the last 3 years. Their MTB's are brilliant. They are very well priced / spec'd across the range because you're getting direct sales model like YT have done.

I can't comment on Vitus, but I can comment on mail order bikes (BIKE, not bride)

check the geometry. if it fits your needs, you'll be fine. Out the box, expect a few tweaks here and there, but that can be with a store-bought bike too, so no difference there.

With carbon, you'll find that not all carbon used in bikes is/are equal. So one carbon bike may feel lively and responsive, while another may feel dead and lifeless. You;ll only know that after riding it for a while. But, with a new bike in a store, chances are you won't find that out in the parking lot spin anyway...

Vitus seems built to a price, but the price is very attractive. Ultegra for 20k... that's a very decent price

kinda sulleys a great brand name but maybe thats just me being old fashioned and uptite (i have 3 french vitus' at home ) :whistling:

Unfortunately like most of the old, great brands. I think 1 models of Bianchi is still made in Italy and De Rosa used to be but even thy have given way now. Look still makes their own carbon frames in France (I think) but most are produced in the same places. Unfortunately there is no connection to the old Vitus except for the name and no DNA between them but bang for buck they are now standing on their own as decent offerings especially in their MTBs. You just can't connect the dots with with their history. Those old 979s were epic.

Vitus are very popular over here. I know a couple of boys who race them in enduro and can’t speak highly enough of them. They are considered a high end brand name over here.
