Scotty, maybe you know, as a regular in the Boksburg area...

Two events on the same day, 6 May.

100CycleChallenge, and

Colgate 32km, 15km and 5km - in Boksburg.

Do you know which route the runners will take?

That's really going to create an issue. I see they start at the stadium but would go past the Colgate factory along Leeupoort street  which is the same road that the 100cycle challenge is on. So 1000's of cyclist and 1000's of runners on the same stretch cant be good.

Runners will follow Van Wyk Louw Drive until they turn into Heidelberg Road where the second water point will be. They will then turn into Leeuwpoort Street, and continue along this road until they reach the third water point outside of the Colgate premises.

Few years back the Emperors cycle race and Birchleigh running race also occurred on the same day and along the same road, North Rand road and that was chaotic.

Will you be a runner or a cyclist on that day ?

Going to be a mess if they use the same route even though 100Cycle says they'll have full road closure

To add other than sharing Leeuwpoort road, I do not believe there are enough traffic officials to cater for the 100cycle with road closure, more so now with the road race.

Still nothing in our local newspaper about the race. I'm sure its all under control and they will let the public know and communicate full details of how motorists are able to travel north/.south well before the time to avoid the frustration.

That’s what a few of us have said, knowing that every intersection needs to be manned - the number of intersections is more than triple compared to Emperors, R4S and CCMNC that all use Ekurhuleni roads.

I’m contemplating the 15km run, only because I have doubts about the ability to close the roads to traffic. It’s a late Autumn start = a late finish, so there will be plenty to irate drivers (my guess).
