I agree but will it fall within the 85k budget?

It could be very close to R85k ...groupset & wheels is the deciding factor betweeen R85k & R100k..but what Steven said.

Ja I would struggle to do a below par build on that frame. I speak as someone who has bought one. Still waiting to receive delivery.

You gonna be soooooooooo f’ing stoked. Pedals like 100mm bike and decends like it a rabid dog chasing his demons.

I don’t have enough superlatives for this bike. I never even think about how much travel this bike has,up or down which is testament to how good it is.

Great choice ????????

It does look like an amazing bike, would love a Calling myself as I prefer the longer travel.

Loving my Insurgent but it is a lot of bike for some of the flatter, longer rides. Not that I am complaining 1 bit!!! Was more than the budget for the OP though......

That is why I went with the following over the Wreckoning.

mondraker...

I wanted a Foxy RR but opted for the Evil because at least there is local support.

Speaking of local support. I wonder how much joy all of the guys looking at getting Canyons abroad with a holiday would get when trying to get warranties solved. Doubt the local distributor would be happy to help seeing as they were shafted on a sale initially.

Finished my first Epic on Sunday on a Cannondale Si-3.Great bike, bought it on the hub for a good price..

...but if I had R85k in my budget for a bike ,I would have definitely had it custom built by CALCULUS BIKES in Hermanus.
