The oil in the lowers... If the stanctions is full of oil on the outside because the wipers is done, then there might be too little oil left in the lowers. I am not talking about the oil in the damper...

OHH OK,  I just assumed that when one take the lowers off you will replace the 5ml and the wipers etc

True.

But the oil in the damper breaks down over time and needs to be refreshed as well. My suspension service regime looks like this:

50hrs: pull lowers and aircan like, replace oil in lowers and grease aircan. If the foam rings are dirty, I'll replace them and wipers. This service I do myself.

100 hrs. Full service. Replace all oils, grease, seals et al. This service is done by my lbs or Stoke or suppliers.

I agree, although my major service is not that frequently.

The problem at hand here is oil residue on the stanctions which cannot come from damper oil.

Serviced 160km before the pics were taken. Shop phoned earlier to convince me that it is normal...

That shop phoned with a story to ACTUALLY convince you that you need another bike shop.

Id go and poke their eyes out with that fork then send it to a proper shop to remove eyeballs off the lowers and service the thing properly.

They lied to you.

Did you specifically ask for the fork to be serviced?

I dont include Suspension service any type of service, not even with a major service.

It needs to be specified.

See it happen waaaay to often, guy drops his bike of for a service and as a after thought ... "Oh, can you also CHECK my shocks?"

What do you mean check?  Check the air pressure  ... or open it up, check the oil, check the dustwipers and check what is going on inside.... ja that is what I will do when I SERVICE it!!
