E-bikes on Sani2c

You should

Being slightly industrially deaf I have given up; people talk so much when the briefing occurs that I just sit and smile.

I therefore assume that nobody else ever listens. :whistling:

Precisely. An ebike isn't going to take you from c batch to the podium. So why is it an issue if people choose to ride them in the non-race versions at Sani then?

So if I am riding C batch, can I ride a KTM450 aslong as I only come 4th?

I keep thinking of Clarkson driving to the North Pole and having a fun time on the way while keeping everything as easy a possible. Maybe we just need to think of ebikers as Clarksons and realise that the 'Adventure' component of races has gone the way of exploring.

We never actually solved it, because we never addressed the core underlying issue.

Its not an eBike issue, its a human nature issue.

People inherently have an issue with others achieving something through a perceived "short cut".

Its in our DNA, its a core human thing.

Forget eBikes, think about somebody at work who gets ahead of you through a short cut, or those who unfairly get jobs, or those who take a short cut at a park run, the guy who skips a red robot because he is late, or the guy who skips the queue.... etc etc it all triggers the same emotion.

If people understood and accepted that, they might understand why there is emotion in this.

More like Clarkson driving his Toyota to the North Pole in a dogsled race.

IMO:  If you want to ride an E-Bike at a stage race you most welcome to be the course sweep. Then you get plenty of time to admire your surroundings and make friends with the back markers.

I suck balls at technical stuff, but I am ok cycling uphills so eBikes aren't a solution to my shortcomings.

Therefore I will simply avoid having to learn to ride my bike over rocks and all that inconvenient and lets be honest, bumpy nonsense. So I have just decided that the way to do the Epic next year, is in an AugustaWestland AW139, I will keep myself out of the top10. But dont you dare tell me that I cannot get my finishers medal.

They are probably friends already.

I suppose people that think racing on an e-bike are the same people that think Maths literacy is the same as Advanced Maths.

OOOOH I got a distinction at Maths Literacy, I can now study engineering at Varisty.

As Syndrome said in Incredibles, when everyone is super, then nobody is super......

Varisty is never the answer to illiteracy. Even Elastigirl would think that's a stretch. :whistling:

Sidenote:

Just entered 947 and they have a clear option for you to indicate whether you will be riding an e-bike, presumably to separate them from the rest.

Obviously you still have the option to not select it and ride your E-bike anyway, but this is a move in the right direction which more organizers will probably replicate in future.

and then there's the perfect ebike for 94.7 too

It does alright on the 60.7. I'm sure an extra 34km will be fine.
