This week in 1987, Mark Hughes played 90 minutes for Wales and later the same day was on the bench for Bayern in Munich.

Mark Hughes is a legend. His thighs were like tree trucks. One enduring memory I have of him is his thighs. Damn.

watched his final game as manager at Southampton against United. I thought a draw was enough but alas. A gentleman, Wrexham born.

Got me on a train of thought, was at Ralph’s last game and Jones’s last game too. I don’t go to all that many games but maybe Martin does not want me at the Chelsea game.

Any thoughts about ref David Coote's comments about Klopp?  I've said similar comments about a couple of business rivals who made it personal and also played dirty.

Some are saying he can never ref in England again, but I don't see why that should be the case.  His mate stitched him up horribly in posting that video.

Thoughts are very different if you support Liverpool or not. Reading through some of the Liverpool pages and media say out of football, then you get Gary Neville opinion ....... and guessing all Man U fans.

Yebo.

Now the plonker done lost his mind by recording himself snorting white powder in a hotel room after a match and whatsapping it to a mate.  Not pretty either, all topless and twitchy and sweaty.

And now there are old pics of him and his PGMOL colleagues Atkinson and Marriner and Friend on a work trip in the Far East with them partying with arms draped around what may or may not be ladyboys.  Wives will be joyous today.

Thing is, can their judgement be trusted?  Virgil van Dijk asked one at the final whistle "Have you been drinking?"  What of the clear chance of them being pressured because of the hooker and drug habits?

Also, why have the FA and PGMOL failed to act on the obvious conflict of interest of the same English refs being paid large wedges of wonga by Man City's owners in Abu Dhabi?

They're just not fit for purpose, they cannot be trusted.

Old Mark Clattenburg has been at it as well.  Disclosing dishonesty right on the pitch in 2016.

Mike Dean:

Dean ignores any integrity, ignores the responsibility of getting it right.

^^^ Say what?  The referees management body itself telling a ref to lie to players and clubs and the fans!?

Sky, ITV and TNT Sports are already scrambling their commentators to cover for those officials several times a day for a few days now.  I've been watching.   MSM must protect their product.

The referees said those things, their own words and actions condemn themselves.  The refs are saying that they're dishonest.  The evidence is undeniable.  They're as rotten as it gets.

Managed to get some tickets to caraboa cup quarter game at st Mary’s. My eldest son ain’t a member  so again difficult. Being his birthday I called my connection in the club and boom. Lad is a Liverpool supporter but will need to stifle his cheers in the unlikely event they score/win.

a few beers, dodgy pukka pie and bobs your uncle. No better way to celebrate a birthday. Poor lad just had another sprog so he never gets out these days.

What a pleasure.  Let's hope he gets to return the pleasure in future.  A mate, originally from Manchester, who passed away in his 80's earlier this year had the great fortune to have his kids treat him to trips for matches at his beloved Old Trafford and to a couple of Aussie F1 GP's.  Oh, and they funded his across-USA trip on a Harley with his next wife.

Even in his 70s Ron tried to persuade us to join him for his 13th Comrades completion.  And there was the pic of him sharing a pint with a young John Lennon.  RIP Ron, what a guy.

Sorry, your shared mini adventure with your son at a storied St Mary's had me reminiscing.  What a pleasure.  Looking forward to any feedback.

What did we just witness?

Just so Spursy, isn't it....

Give Ipswich their first win in the Premier League after 22 years.... Then give Man City their equal worst home defeat in 22 years!

This is the madness of life as a Spurs supporter.
