Stumpy 6fattie with two sets of wheels. The +27.5 x 3 inch have stayed on the bike almost permanently and the 29 x 2.3 are brand new and (still) waiting to be used.

The +27.5 are heavy. Descents at crazy speed more than make up for it though.

I'll use the 29ers when on only Jeep track. Although I've never ridden Jeep track alone.

At 11:00 in the morning...

Yup, I work from home, she just got home from night shift and was about to go to sleep.

EDIT: She laughed when I explained, but it was one of those moments I nearly threw my phone at a wall when the page opened hahaha similar feeling to when people posted those videos on FB with a porno soundtrack in the background - opened one of those a few years ago at the office.

I have a Surly Krampus with 29+ tires and I love it. It would definitely not be my first choice for all rides/terrain especially since I ride with a rigid fork. It makes sense to have this setup on a hardtail and I'm lucky enough to have another bike as well. It does seem that wider tires are becoming more common and you don't necessarily have to go all in (i.e. 2.8 or 3) on most new bikes.

My conclusion:

If you are on a budget and not riding very technical terrain, go for a nice 650B+ or 29+ hardtail with a suspension fork. If you have a bit more money, buy a 29" trail/enduro bike.

I ride a Trek Roscoe 8 hardtail with a carbon fork. 27,5 x 3,0 on the front and 27,5 x 2,8 on the back. I’ve had it since January this year and love it. Have ridden 29 and 27,5 in the past. I havn’t tried the 29plus?
