How do I know for certain which "model" of Monarch do I have, RT3, RT or RL . Which approximate year model would it be?

It looks similar to the one pictured, and ser. # starts with 50T200*****

All the decals has been removed from mine, except M/M (tune state), when I got it 2nd hand.

I'd suggest playing with the lockout lever to establish if you have the RT3 or RT/RL. The RT3 lever will move to 3 positions, basically 8 o'clock, 12 o'clock and 4 o'clock (see pic 1 below). The RL and RT will only be at 6 o'clock and move to 8 o'clock (2nd pic below). If an RL or RT you will likely need to fit the shock to a frame to check if it is a threshold (RT) or lockout (RL) model, since the threshold will likely offer more travel then the lockout when in lockout/threshold position (well that's my very simplistic understanding of the difference between RL and RT in any case)

The blue lever gives me three settings. 1 x 12 o'clock, 1 x 4 o'clock and 1 x 8 o'clock.

Can I assume then that it is the RT3?

Seems reasonable to assume.

In terms of establishing year, well that's a whole new ball game. But I think the black anodizing on the stanchion was introduced in around 2014, so yours is likely an earlier model. If the serial number has the letters "MY" in it, the number that follows is usually the year of manufacture

yes. Check specs under DAMPING (gives number of lever positions)

Cool beans, thanks guys. Will be fitting it this afternoon then. Let's hope it is in 100% working condition.

If it is, should be an improvement on the DT Swiss M210 I have on now, right?

RT3.

If it's used, bring it round and we can check the condition. Better to know now than when you wear through the coating on the air can.

I can get decals as well, may even have some in my collection of arcane bits.

Fitted my shock last night, went on no problem. Who would have thought a Fox hardware kit works a charm with the Monarch / Scott frame. Fits like a glove.

Went around the block, felt a lot better than the DT Swiss (maybe just because I wanted it too  :whistling: )

Now to take it to the trails on Saturday to dial the suspension in properly.

Droo, can you please have a look in your collection of arcane goodies, to see if you might have a decal set in there?
