So my dad got a 1 month suspension and R750 fine for riding the choc mtb race.

Apparantly CSA cares not that this is an event that raises money for kids with cancer.

I'm speechless

Pathetic, How did they know he did the race?

There's going to have to be a split...  100 guys racing CSA events, everyone else "riding" in charity/fun events.  Hope CSA has got the money (and everything) to put on those events for people with racing licenses.

Cycling South Africa is a charity as well. Also rules has to be followed. Race must be sanctioned by CSA.

just asking cause I don't know. What's the issue with riding an event not sanctioned by CSA?

ignore my question, clearly upset someone

Not upset...ask away

If you are a licensed rider and you ride a non CSA sanctioned event you get lashed in the principals office

Been discussed alot here before.

It does not seem fair, but it is the rules as dictated by the UCI.  And for them it is either sanctioned or not sanctioned, there is not an option for "waiver granted", as then it becomes difficult to determine which events are worthy enough for that
