MTB_FAN Posted November 11, 2018 Share Hey everyone, What option will work best as a smart trainer for my bike? Specialized Epic Comp 29er 1X12 speed SRAM. I am looking at the H2 just because I can get it for R13 000. (new) Thanks and I appreciate the comments.
Jaco-fiets Posted November 11, 2018 Share I love my kickr but heard great things about the H2 (and that is a great price). I think you will be happy with either. Great 2 options to have. Close your eyes and make a pic
Pusher Posted November 11, 2018 Share Go with the H2. It's a great trainer and price.
Slowbee Posted November 12, 2018 Share Kickr for the win. Simplicity and ease of use, coupled with the fact that the bits and bobs can be used when the bike is not on the trainer. Might be a bit more expensive but I see it as worth it. Also, the feature I really like is you can load your own routes without having to pay third party apps on anything like that. It really is worth it.
Muttley Posted November 12, 2018 Share I've got a Kicker 3 paired with my Spez Camber (XX1) and it works brilliantly. The support from the local agents has also really impressed me. Had a few technical queries - no probs with the unit. I've seen on FB that some users are having issues with certain Gen 4 units (https://www.facebook.com/groups/329097417298661/?ref=nf_target&fref=nf) I also like the fact that Wahoo are always enhancing the indoor environment (Climb, Headwind, Desk etc) - all very expensive but I like their thinking. I purchased an ANT+ dongle from Cyborg - they were also great! (http://www.cyborg.co.za/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=89&search=ant%2B) Regardless of which trainer you get, you're gonna need a mat - I went to my local builders and purchased one of these for R168 (1.7M is the perfect length): Edited November 12, 2018 by Loudpedal
