I don't think they meant to do it like that. Rather, make a very durable and top quality dropper lever, which at the same time has a great touchpoint and is also anti slip, for those ppl who ride in adverse co ditions and whose fingers WOULD slip off.

It's another aspect that makes it better, not the defining feature.

Actually, kind of agree with what you're saying. It's an added feature, not the sole reason for making it.

It's just that the "unique grippy injection molded thumb pad" is one of the few things that differentiate it from a common/garden variety lever. And apart from the original rockshox actuator (which I think is crap) - I've never really heard people complaining about lever ergonomics or saying that their thumb hurts or keeps slipping off the lever...and I did many years of riding in welsh trail centres where things can get pretty wet. So it's never seemed like a problem. It's more that I'm dumbstruck that there's a market for this really expensive (albeit attractive) lever that endeavours to fix things that (IMO) aren't really broken. But maybe the market will prove me wrong.

yeah, it's kinda like they sat down and brainstormed how they could make the best under-bar droppy lever actuator possible, and this is the result.

Still not 4 times better than the Lyne lever, though.

Its partly the world of design we live in tbh, with 3D Printers and CNC cutting, creating solutions become easier and the challenge is quite fun at times. This might have just been one guys quest for his own perfect lever turned to sales.

Ive used Lyne droppers to carbon bars to oval chain rings. Always had best service, advice, and reliability from these local guys..

Would remove a Reverb for a Lyne in a heartbeat
