Only reason why i posted in the first place was yesterday i saw a guy on a roadbike cruise through a red light, then have the stupidity to try cut off a car- luckily he missed the car or lucky for him the car missed him, it was absolutely shocking, i thought of perhaps opening the topic to perhaps see if clubs (or others by way of reporting them somehow to perhaps CSA to prevent them from riding official rides by revoking licenses) for us as riders to combat poor rider behaviour, didnt expect all the wise ass remarks. Most of us are motorists in our "spare time", dunno how you feel as a cyclist sitting in your car at a red light watching some jackass on a pimped out steed hammer straight past beacuse the rules dont matter to him/her as it looks "safe".

Did you even bother to read the forum rules and guidelines before your first post? I doubt it very much.

I don't know who your "most of us" refers to, but I'm a motorist 100% of the time, a motorcyclist 100% of the time and a cyclist 100% of the time. I find the bolded parts of your text contradictory and again, I doubt you bothered reading any of the rich forum content before your rant. You didn't read the "jumping red lights" thread that I shared, did you? Some of us "cyclists" are perfectly content with crossing red lights within reason and for safety. Also, your attitude towards and words for describing cyclists (what was the motivation for calling it pimped out? Just because someone takes care of/ enjoys spending on their bike, it makes you jelly?) using blanket statements undermines your credibility and I actually believe you have nefarious intent rather than having civil discussions.

 Damn, that is a loooooong sentence! I personally don't care if I see a cyclists blast through red. It's their own k∆k if they come short. The world is too big and complicated for me to care about klein kakkies!

They blast through red, then the car sitting there goes "hmmm look cyclist does not care about road rules, then they want 1.2M when we pass them.....F&*K That/them"

Then the driver passes me/my friend etc so close him/we get a fright and ride of the road falling and snap there goes a clavicle.

If you want motorist to treat us like fellow road users, we need to behave like road users.

A few weekends back we were returning from a leisurely ride to Hout Bay and back. We stopped at the traffic light opposite the Seapoint Swimming pool in Beach road, when this chop blasted past us, not even touching his brakes. I shouted at him that the light is red, he must stop.

Obviously I got ignored and he just carried on. As soon as the light changed to green for us, we set off after him, we caught him opposite Winchester Mansions. I drew up next to him and asked to see his permit. He asked what permit, and I told him "the one that gives you permission to go over red traffic lights" He had no answer, and also did not get hardegat with me.

As we stopped at the next red traffic light, he stopped a respectable distance behind us, and stayed there till the light changed green.

Hopefully he will in future think twice before blowing past other cyclist standing at a red traffic light.

for a moment there I thought you were referring to me, but the guy who shouted at me never caught me   He put in a decent effort though
