Never ride carbon! How much you want for the groupset?

Carbon bikes rock! Do you think an Alu frame would still be rideable in the same conditions!

At least you can see now what the inside of your frame looks like!

This poses an interesting question.

I wonder if I would have been worse off if I was on a steel or alloy bike?

Seems like the carbon disintegrated with the impact.

Nuting personal but isnt merida likely to crack!

I havent heard of any merida mountain bike not breaking!! or to crack 4 that matter!!

why would that be?

Why Merida?? and not Specialized or BMC

Ewep bent his titanium frame in a battle with a car, so i don't think any bike will survive a severe vehicle collision. As for the BMC SLC01 comment, while it may be stiffer, it certainly isn't stronger, i'm willing to bet money on that. Just bring me the one of either frame and i'll prove it to you.

damn wisecrack....that frame really is totalled.  If that is what the bike looks like I don't want to know what it must have felt like. Confused

Sorry to break it to you ,but hitting a car side on at almost 50km/h will break any carbon frame no matter which manufacture's super duper carbon is used.

I rode this bike for a couple of months and it's one of the stiffest frames I ever rode.

Don't know where you came up with that statistic of all Merida frames crackingConfused

Hopefully you have insurance!

No frame will be the same after a crash like that...

Hey JP

That frame looks to small for you.

At least you can joke about this.

.....and those Easton Ec90 bars were ridden...what... about 4 times.

That really looks bad.How you feelin now?

No I'm feeling much better. Ribs are still killing me ,but hey as long as I can still breath I'm happy.

Still undecided on my next bike though. +-30k to spend if the insurance get their act together.
