I've done an Epic with Latrinus where he bought a mtb a week before the race, not had one for years. Did Epic with a weeks training, finished.

Now he's taking it a bit far. He's starting the freedom challenge next week. About 25 days of mtb through snow and sh*t. Pietermaritzburg to Paarl offroad. He trained once a week, is about 15k's overweight, cant read a map, wont be prepared with all the "stuff". Hope he takes a bottle.

wat van die extreme driekamp ding? Hardloop die comrades, dan die freedom challenge en dan moet jy betyds wees vir die bergrivier marathon.

I recon Latrinus will be distracted by the fine mountain cabbage being cultivated on those remote slopes... he'll be following smoke signals, not gps waypoints... don't expect him back before year end Wink

That Freedom Challenge is a REAL MTB challenge! Good luck Carinus! I see Fiona Coward (organiser of Sabie Experience and Panorama Tour) is also doing it. And my buddy from way back when, Tim James. May you all have a safe, memorable ride!

Glad to see Toyota are involved. It's the perfect platform for an off-road motorcar brand.
