Garmin Edge 520 Bundle HRM capability

Hi, 

Can one use the HRM from this bundle with lets say a fenix or 935?

Ie could you swim and run with it and will it give you the same metrics?

I am not sure I understand your question. Do you want to use the HR transmitter with other Garmin devices or do you want to use other Garmin devices simultaneously while doing a workout?

The 520 HRM won’t work for swimming. You need the tri-HRM (it’s blue) for it to work for swimming.

Running: You’ll get the basic metrics, but won’t get vertical oscillation

Swimming: Ant+ can’t transmit throught water, so you’ll need the swim or tri HR strap

 

Cheapest option to get all the metrics (run and swim), will be to ge the tri strap

Kewl, that helps ito of not getting the bundle then. I would assume that the tri strap would simultaneously pair to both my fenix and the 520 at the same time, for eg on the bike leg of a tri?

It does. I do this with the HRM-Tri strap on my FR935 and 820 during triathlons with no issue.
