Congrats, you'll be loving them more the steeper you go!

Now I must just see if I can set my dropper post lever on matchmaker clamps which will tidy things up even more! Also what's the consensus with cabling, brakes over gear/dropper or other way? Would hate for that to clash with my sock length

Depends on the dropper lever. If under-bar, then def under brake levers, for obvious reasons. If the "normal" type, then over the lever, again for obvious reasons.

This thread has created an itch, my XT brakes are p***ing me off, work great but as soon as you lie the bike down or put it upside down at least one of them go squishy. Apparently if the calipers go above the levers there is an issue? Put them in the above position for a while and a bleed is required which is a pain!

Those Curas sound good, even if I did go from R1’s to XT. Or can someone sponsor some Hopes

You might be able to 'burp' them. Basically take the top cover off at the lever and pump the brakes to release the air bubbles.

Meezo, I experienced the adjustment knob coming loose. Took it to lbs and they said that had another case like that. They put on a drop of that "anti slip thingy" never moved a mm since. Happy with the brakes thus far

shot, will look into it, those brakes are sitting in a plastic sackie somewhere in my spares box.
