philip.maree Posted February 13, 2019 Share Do I need a new Derailleur Hanger if I upgrade from Shimano 2x10 to SRAM NX 1x12? I can't seem to find any resources online indicating that it is required, but my LBS says it can't be done otherwise? Has anyone that upgraded had a similar issue? droo Posted February 13, 2019 Share Depends. Shimano has a direct mount standard, which won't work with SRAM. If you've got one of these you'll need a new hanger. A pic of the bike may help.
philip.maree Posted February 13, 2019 Share Thanks for explaining that, the direct mount standard makes sense. Just interesting that none of the sites promoting the upgrade kit to SRAM NX 1x12 mentions that. Which gives the impression that the upgrade kit contains everything needed. Depends. But not all. Also the upgrade kits don't include the chainring which you'll also need.

droo Posted February 13, 2019 Share No new chainring needed if upgrading from 1x11 That depends on how far you've dragged the chainring through your nought...
