Jacoo Posted March 9, 2019 Share Ive recently bought a wheelset which has a carbon braking surface. My brake calipers are the type where the brake pads just bolt on with one screw, the pad doesnt slide into a cage or housing. Ive been phoning around to see if i can source either compatibile pads, or the pads with housing if that makes sense. I cant seem to source them anywhere. Does anyone know where to find? Anyone have something that might work? The brakes are "Tektro TK-R340, Giant Specific, Dual Pivot". Wasnt aware that i might have to spend more money on calipers.. bikebloke Posted March 9, 2019 Share just replace those rather cheap tektro pads with any Shimano Compatible Brake Cartridge + pad set - then get any shimano compatible Carbon pads and put them in the catridges Edited March 9, 2019 by bikebloke Long Wheel Base

David Marshall Posted March 9, 2019 Share LBS should have. RavX, Shimano and plenty more. You may have to get the carbon pads separately.
Tomik Posted March 9, 2019 Share Even the likes of Sportsmans Warehouse should have. But the sales person probably won't know what you're talking about.
Long Wheel Base Posted March 9, 2019 Share Nice wheels. I am glad you are putting new carbon specific pads on. Saw a dude once use his old pads from ally wheels. They stopped fine but the pieces of ally in the pad stuffed his wheels up six love.
Jacoo Posted March 9, 2019 Share https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/response-brake-cartridge-incl-extra-pads-shimanohttps://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/response-brake-pads-carbon-dura-ace Weird, I phoned cwc earlier to ask and they told me you cant get the pads with the cartridge like that, but i see they have these on their website. I think they misunderstood my question. Will these then work? Are they definitely compatible with my tektro brakes?
FootballingCyclist Posted March 9, 2019 Share Even the likes of Sportsmans Warehouse should have. But the sales person probably won't know what you're talking about.LoL speaking of that.. Last Sunday a mate of mine needed tubes and all the LBS were closed. He went to Sportsmans and asked for long valve tubes(80mm) specifically, the salesman asked him which rims he rides, He said American Classic Carbon 40mm, Salesman told him they must be a chinese wheelset as they arent originals, "You only get 38mm and 50mm American Classics, yours must be chinese". My mate said ok thanks and walked out without bothering with an educational course for the salesman.
