Grease_Monkey Posted March 29, 2019 Share AFAIK the Camber was replaced by the Stumpy ST, maybe have a look at that as well. The Trance 29er does look like the best value for money though.Correct. And the people I know whi have the new Stumpy ST are incredibly happy with it.
thebob Posted March 29, 2019 Share The Giant is definitely a bit more taught feeling than the Trek. The Trek feels great to ride, but super slack seat angle on the Trek put me off and was part of the reason I sold mine in the end, but it is still a great bike. The Giant is a good allrounder and very comfortable to ride and it is an absolute rocket downhill! Climbing it is ok, but with a change from the Minion tyres to maybe a Forekaster or a Rekon I am sure that would change. You won't go wrong either way
GSG Posted March 29, 2019 Share Hey guys, Would buying a mid travel trail bike (140/150mm) instead of a short travel (120/130mm) be a bad idea if I plan to do some longer rides and races (Sani, Transbaviaans)? I have my eye on the Merida One Twenty 800 (very well priced for the spec level) but stock seems to be an issue (XL) and I'm guessing there won't be any new stock coming since the 2020 models will probably be here in a couple of months. Will it be a mistake to look at the Merida One Forty 800 (same spec but 150mm)? I am considering the Giant Trance 29 2 and Trek Fuel Ex 7 as well but they are a lot more expensive (R10k) than the Merida and spec wise lesser. Your thoughts? Speak to Rory from Ridgeway Cycles 011 524 0192. He could possibly assist you with similar Merida frame and up grade the specs

Dirt Tracker Posted April 5, 2019 Share The orange one was a bit above my pay grade but thank for all the help and advice! See you on the trails! That looks awesome. Only thing wrong is that cats need flat pedals to get a good chin scratch going on. #Keepthatpussyhappy. henningvr
