Event Name: SIGNAL HELL HILLCLIMB
When: 18 May 2019
Where: The parking lot outside Camps Bay High School., Western Cape
Category: Road

SIGNAL HELL HILL CLIMB IS BACK!

Saturday the 18th!

6km of uphill burn! Start in the parking lot outside Camps Bay high, up the Glen, past Lions Head all the way to the end of Signal Hill.

METAL bikes only! Ideally, Vintage steel, Aluminium and titanium are also allowed.

The race starts at 7:30, pull in at around 7:10 to suss out the competition and soak up the vibe.

 

*There is no race registration, or riding fee, just pull up and race.

why no carbon? come on. there are few road races as is.

 

It's a public road, no entry fees applicable. Nobody can stop you from riding up the hill coincidentally while this thing is going on....just don't let a steel bike beat you :P

The area around the start of the hiking trail to Lions Head can be quite chaotic.

You could definitely just arrive on your carbon bike but it wouldn't really make sense racing a bunch of guys on steel. Would probably just disrupt the vibe a bit?

 

No road closures, whole race only lasts about 20  minutes.

Last one  was rad,  I mean it hurt like hell,  but it was rad!

Are there weight classes so the fat, old guys stand a chance as well? :blush: :blink:

Nope, no weight classes. But you will find dudes suffering equally as bad to tackle the Glen with. Pull in, its going to be fun!
