The bike is about to inherit the components of another not-so-old bike which has a top pull FD. I guess I will need to have a cable stop welded in the frame, right? Or are there any other alternatives?
madmarc Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 You are correct - without a top pull lug on the frame it cannot be done - maybe easier to buy a bottom pull FD, that not that expensive

droo Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 SRAM or Shimano? If it's Shimano it should be able to run top or bottom pull.
Piernas Flacas Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 It's Shimano. The thing is that I want to route the FD cabling through the top of the frame, not the bottom. And there isn't a lug on the seat tube to stop the cable housing from the top. I guess I'll have to have it weld it.
