Just checking if its still possible to buy a new Sram Red 22 groupset ? Been searching the webs and not much available. Looking to do a lightweight build and this is the best option.

There are still some websites that will ship SRAM to SA, but as Monark mentions, the majority have been blocked.

I'll keep checking, and maybe wait a bit and hope that the rand recovers further.

Look at Campag. Just as light as Sram Red and they actually want your business. They are not geoblocking.

 

Maybe if Sram realises that they are losing business, they might reverse their decision.

for sure, DA 9100 for R21k locally isnt bad at all. Can save that 200g weight somewhere else.

I picked up a very rare frameset at a steal, not in a hurry to build it so looking at best options.

the frame itself is not a weight weenie frame,,, its somewhere in the middle. But guys abroad have built it with decent components to +/- 6.5kg with deep section wheels etc.

 

Frame is Chapter2 Tere rim brake. Got it at 65% below retail so couldnt say no.
